Family History

Hey guys!

So for my Family History class here, we have been required to come up with a project that furthers the work of Family History within our families or communities. I chose to start a Family History website that is accessible to all of my family. I have created a webpage where our family tree can be viewed, added to, a discussion room where any questions can be asked and a story board. I am really hoping that this website goes beyond a school project and is successful in its real purpose, which is to promote Family History work. I would encourage everyone to go to the page http://www.myfamily.com/site/46798481/, add themselves as members and start contributing all your knowledge, stories, and photos. A page like this is only successful as long as it gets used so spread the word!!! We have been taught by the prophets that without participation in Family History work, we can not receive salvation. This really is important, and I think that it could also be fun for the family to share stories and experiences. Once you have visited the website, give me feedback on what you think!

My First Halloween!!!

Well, here are some pictures of my first Halloween. We had a ward party for FHE at the Bishop's house. It was in his barn and we had a baked potato bar and games. It was great fun!! These are the costumes me and my roommates put together pretty much at the last minute. I think they turned out pretty good! Oh and all the make-up credit goes to Angela, she borrowed some things from the school and did it all for us.

This is me and a couple of my roomies. Andrea (left) was a beat-up volleyball player, I was a rag doll, Angela (just right of me) sported a lovely Utah Poof, and Lindsey (far right) was static and had socks and stuff pinned to her. She even had a sock pinned into her hair in the back
It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but I'm wearing blue tights w/ some little fabric patches on them and brown flats.

Andrea looking very beat up

Angela and her massive poof (the picture doesn't do it justice)

Me again :)
Lindsey with her lovely socks and pieces of fabric...too bad you can't see the sock in the back

Us just having fun in the bathroom after we got home.

Fun with my Roomies!

So today my roomate Angela decided to dust off her old costume make-up skills for Halloween. She's going to do a couple of our other roommate's make-up and I let her practice on me. This is how it turned out :) It was great fun because just a couple minutes after she did it my visiting teachers came over for the first time. Lol needless to say they are going to have to get used to my crazy side!

Here are some pictures of my ankle that I took today. It's a doozie. I may take Mandi's advice and go to the Health Center tomorrow and have them check it out, just for kicks.

Gosh Darn It!

So, I haven't updated for a while, but I do have a couple stories to tell. First off, I had a great weekend with mom when she came up for Mother's Weekend. It was fun to show her around campus a little and share with her a piece of what my life is like here. I sure do miss being with my family all the time! It made me a little homesick when she left, but I'll be ok. That's the first time I've been homesick since I moved out! I think it helps that I get to see Mandi and Ryan a lot.

Carissa came this weekend and we had a ball. Although I didn't do as much stuff with her as I did with mom, we had a great night in Idaho Falls. I remembered that I had a couple giftcards that I got from graduation so I had fun shopping for some much needed clothes and groceries. The best part of the weekend was just getting to see my sisters again. Sorry you couldn't be there Lindy! We'll find a weekend that we can all get together when you can come too, no worries!

And for my latest and greatest story, one which we have all heard several times before, I sprained my ankle...again. I was just heading to work and stepped on it wrong and plopped over on the ground. I tore a small hole in the knee of my pants, got a nice little scratch on my palm, and sprained my ankle. Luckily a girl in my FHE group was driving by and saw it happen, so she was able to help me the rest of the way into work where I proceeded to call one of my roomates to have her bring me an Ace bandage and my newly acquired ankle brace. I still had to work because they needed me, it was crazy busy, but they got me some drugs (advil and excedrin I think) and a stool to sit on while I pepperonied pizzas all night. I did have to get up and move some but it was ok. The worst part is I had to call my dance partner and teacher and tell them that now I'm going to be out of dancing for at least a week. Hopefully I'll be able to get back into it in a couple weeks, or else me and my partner may not be ready to perform in November like we had hoped to.

Other than that life is good! I love hearing from people so call me anytime you want to chat!

Hey Everybody,
I know it's been awhile but there hasn't really been anything exciting to put on here. I've just been up to school, work, church, and now dancing! I met up with this guy I knew from Boise, and it turns out that we both love dancing! So at a swing workshop one evening we met up with a guy here who has been looking to start up a cabaret team. Naturally me and Jordan jumped at the opportunity and the team grew to the marvelous number of 2. :) There were about 2 other dance partners who signed up but they fell through, so right now it's just me and him. I am way excited for it though, and our first performance is hopefully going to be sometime in November. We're thinking the 11th but that is just tentative.

I got a calling as a stake extractor. Most people don't know what that is so I will elucidate. I am working in the Family History department extracting names from really old census records. It is great fun to be involved in the wonderful work of Family History. It truly is a very important part of the Lord's plan for us and I can't wait to learn more.

I am going to take my first real test here in a little bit, and I have another coming up in about a week. It is so crazy that midterms are already almost here! I start taking my midterms about the middle of October, and Finals are in the first 2 weeks of December. This semester has gone by so fast, I can't believe that I'm almost 1/2 way done! Crazy how time flies when you're having fun :)

College Life is Great!

Hey Everybody!
So I am totally new to this whole blogging thing so give me a little to get some pictures on here and figure it all out. For now I will update you on my summer. I moved to Rexburg on August 15th and lived with Mandi and Ryan for a couple weeks and had tons of fun with them and Maddi. I moved into my apartment on Sep. 4th and started school on the 8th. I also got a job working at Little Caesars, so if you're ever in Rexburg and get hungry, come in and see me! It has been a crazy adventure so far, but I'm loving every minute of it. My classes are awesome! Even though there is going to be a lot of homework and reading I am very excited. I have already learned a lot. The best thing about being here is how they combine spiritual and temporal learning. We pray at the start and end of every class and sometimes sing too. (depending on the teacher) I absolutely love having the spirit with me all day every day. The concept of putting school and church together like this is new to me, and I am so excited to see what the future will bring! I want to give a shout-out to my awesome parents who helped me to get where I am in more ways than one :) Thanks for all the love, time and money you invested in me...I'm sure I didn't always make it easy! And now a shout-out to Lindy...I sure miss you kid! I bet my roommates would think I was crazy if I started to rough-house with one of them. HaHa as much as I love it here...I haven't made a lot of friends yet and sometimes there's not a whole lot to do. And of course I can't forget my other sisters and brother-in-laws (or is it brothers-in-law?)... you guys have always been so awesome! I can't wait to see you again!
